Why do they attack one at the time and as here comes my arm please catch it
An Aikido leader!
awesome
Hahaha! That is not even close to a Muay Thai clinch. Aikido is so funny! How can a black belt, event in Aikido, be so ignorant? I understand the people on YT watching and be amazed, by you, as a blackbelt, don't you fell shame for teaching something so far away from reality? Probably not. Next time, invite a real Muay Thai practitioner and ask him to perform the clinch. Film that and put it on UA-cam.
I wish I could have shared ideas with Mr. Pranin before he passed. There are at least ten errors here but am sure he was aware of them. I would not presume to dictate Sensei's art to him. That said: 1. I wouldnt let anyone just grab my arm and would immediately counter. 2. I would not give back ukes balance. Aikido should be done with immobilization if uke countering as first priority and finishing the technique as optional. Incomplete techniques are an option. 3. Really from this position shihonage would be safer and would prevent uke from spinning out. This is the most glaring issue for me. 4. Techniques often fail because of entering incorrectly. Stanley seems to emphasize what to do when a technique fails as a remedy but but does not stress why the technique failed as I do. 5. He is practicing a combative form of aikido. The elbow compromises the waza... you are sacrificing one waza for another which is not good... however an elbow may be possible. 6. If the elbow is possible it might be because you are high up on ukes arm. I would have to re-examine the video but something like kotegaishi variations. 7. Lastly the punch has more range than the elbow and has better reliability as it allows you to finish the technique as you intended. Stanley is slower and older so would use a stiff punch. Therefore that ounch has to be hard and count. I am younger and quicker. I would use a snapping jab and quickly go back to the technique. So there you have it. Do not let someone grab your arm. If they do use ura shihonage. If they pull you forward and are shorter then you are forced to use kotegaeshi. This is a worst case scenario arising from multiple failures but good for him for training it. Personally I would start with more practical basic ideas and then work up to this.
Я изучал разные стили айки-до, ивама рю самый сильный из них, близкий к истокам (дайто-рю айкидзюцу) и как следствие самый работающий даже с напреженным и сопротивляющимся сопрерником❤
Aikido
Not sure who is more insane, this guy or the people that believe him.
Сколько не смотри, а ясно одно:никто так и не познал технику айки как О Сенсей Морихэй. Жаль рано ушёл от нас, дожил бы до 100лет, точно и левитацию и телепортацию и бесконтактный бой открыл бы. ❤
O'Sensei's kiai sent chills down my spine. I'd certainly be scared stiff had I hear them in the woods at night. 😅
Hurt is the wrong term to use in Aikido. Uke didn’t drop due to pain as so often been misinterpreted. If pain is the main emphasise in Aikido then it’s just but another useless art that relies solely on brutality. I would rather say to conform.
Asked me to stay late well after class more than once".... To all out thrash me. Years later I understand the meaning. Effective 2/10/24/
I feel ya... You had to be on your toes, ukemi wise, when working out with Chiba sensei
Maravillosa, una de las pocas damas que se le ve natural sus movimientos.
This gave me an idea on how I can apply this technique in my BJJ sparring.
O Sensei 🙏🙏🙏
Cómo an declinado un arte tan bonito ,ustedes creen de verdad que los samurais entrenaban así ,cuando de esas habilidades dependía tu vida 😢,
Even at 8th dan, Aikido is a complete joke. 😂
No one believes me when I tell them I taught a 4 year old kid to throw me from Seizan. He was so excited. I'm 6'4 220. And I taught him to extend his hand to my center. I taught him to SAY HI. As we wave our hands to greet someone. With the open hand. He threw me with ease. As I held both his wrist. Even tripped me out.
I'm afraid it's real lads, just looks unreal, because of the high level of spiritual attainment
A really good explanation of iriminage and the recognition of the role of strikes in Aikido. Interesting that you have chosen the portrait of O'Sensei that I have.
These techniques are called "Taninzudori" techniques and their purposes are for demonstration purposes only.

Deep overview (conflict of terms, yes) of these principles. Explained by the foremost authority. Thanks.
Crazy. I had two full hours of VHS Tapes of O'Sensei teaching in Japan around 1960s. Saito Sensei must have been around 25 or 30 then. Just amazing indepth study of Aikido. Loan them to my girl friend son. Never to be seen again. What a loss.
I started training martial arts at 12 years old. 1967. 4 styles since. Aikido being the 4th. Started in 1990 or so. And im still a novice. Aikido is like nothing ive trained before. Its almost opposite of every style ive trained in. The movement of the feet, body, and hands. Are of the Sword. Sword Mind,Sword Body. Sword Spirit. To Not be there. When the attack come. Drop them in the hole you left. Ous!!!
Very impressive
I'm going to practice Aikido. I also want to know telekinesis
Mas Shoji. Gardena Aiki Ki. Thank you for your teaching. Miss you everyday, Frank Martinez Downey California ❤❤❤
RIP Stanley
Please traducing to the Spanish.. thanks
Aikido and related arts should embrace the concept of honesty and explain how the techniques are aided greatly by the cooperation of the Uke. Instead of pretending that the art has superpower abilities. The truth is actually more impressive than the fiction that short-cutting "masters" try to claim. It's just that these masters are more physical than analytical. And, those of us with superior I.Q.'s must suffer their hubris. I'd settle all questions in combat, enough said.
I actually love the principles of Akido in relation to the ability to control balance. However, isn't it about time that we stop talking about Ki as something other than an illogical superstition? Those who freeze themselves in time and can't think are truly brain dead.
Ki is real but it has been mystified over time. Really it’s just a principle of using simple science that came from Kenjutsu. If you ever grappled with someone that is super relaxed and flexible then, weather they realize it or not, they were using ki. It’s not magical at all.
That right there is a good teacher.
mdr !!!!!🤣😂
im sorry but that gotta be staged or something, like there no way bro got spinjitzu wind powers 0:42
Ok
Morihei is the master of the martial master of all time! His life was amazing and very inspirational !

Amazing throwing capability. For a man of his advanced age to be able to throw with one hand multiple men holding a staff -- quite remarkable. Plus the light-touch throwing and swordsmanship. Very impressive indeed.
Very interesting clips. Ueshiba had such fluent flow in open hand, he's just as fluid in weapons. Thanks for sharing.
Who is uke and where does he teach?
Great help
Hi! How can i get it?? I'm from argentina
Respect, Chiba sensei. You will always be remembered.
It works very well against compliant senior students who don't want to embarrass the instructor. Try it against someone who doesn't respect you or your art and the outcome will be very different.
Probably a black eye or a contusion hahah.
Actually O-Sensei did that. Many times. He was a 10th dan Jujitsu and used his fighting skills in war fighting soldiers on the battlefield in China. He originally would not take students below 3rd dan Jujutsu. They were already trained competent fighters before they studied with him. Students who have never trained in an actual combat art (eg almost anyone in the US studying Aikido) would get defeated or even crushed in your scenario. But someone who trained to proficiency in a combat art and then studied Aikido should be able to handle the situation well.
@@TheThinkersBible Iam an aikido Black Belt. Last year Suzuki Toshio came to our coutry and had a closed door demonstration. He said that Aikido is not functional in real life and O-Sensei as good as he was at the ART of Aikido never applied what he knew in real life beacuse deep down he know it doesn't work. He also said that a boxer or a judopractitioner is way more equiped than aikidoka for a real fight. Mind you this is a person that LOVES aikido but even he recognizes Aikido is more art than reality. He said and I quote: "Aikido is beautiful to look at. That's what we japanese strive for, beauty in all things. Aikido is NOT a combat system and should never be used in real life". Also I've seen Aikido practitioners spar with boxers, judocas, karate practitioners and it simply doesnt work. That's why mixed martial arts are a thing and even they don't use Aikido, so that can tell you about how effective its in real scenarios.
@@felathar1985 I don't doubt that. I've studied combat arts and know Aikido doesn't work on its own. I know of an Aikido sensei who's wife was 2nd dan Aikido and was shocked because she was sexually assaulted and couldn't do anything to the attacker. Personally I call the art "Aiki-dancing" :) What I meant is that if you know a combat art well -- particularly it's father art Jujitsu -- then you could use some of the techniques in Aikido. But if you've studied only Aikido -- forget it. It's like the health Tai Chi vs the real combat Tai Chi.
@@TheThinkersBible that's ... what I said lol. I just wanted to reafirm what you said and also comment on what Suzuki Toshio-san said.
